What is a Sports Injury?
“I didn’t warm up properly.” “I am too old to be playing basketball.” “My foot hurts every time I run.” These are some common things people will tell me when dealing with some type of sports-related injury. However, the fact of the matter is that injuries happen! It is why athletic trainers, physical therapists, and orthopedic surgeons all have jobs (and busy offices). Professional athletes get injured, high school athletes get injured, and weekend warriors get injured too. We take care of all types of sports-related injuries at K2PT.
What Are Different Types of Sports Injuries?
Sports Injuries vary from a nagging plantar fasciitis to a ruptured and reconstructed ACL, and everything in between. We treat fractures, twists, tears, breaks, aches, pains, new, old, mild, severe, you-name-it. We love taking care of patients who have a goal of returning to a specific hobby. We are able to safely and gradually rehabilitate your injury and return you to the activity that you love; whether you are an elite football player or a senior citizen pickleballer.
How Do We Help With Sports injuries?
We love treating athletes and sports-related injuries here at K2PT. One of the main reasons for that is the motivation that these patients typically have to recover. Physical Therapy is a two-way street; we promise to provide you with a customized treatment plan and excellent physical therapy care while in our office, but the patient must do their part as well to maximize recovery. Patients who are injured doing the sport they love, are often incredibly motivated to do whatever is necessary to get back out there – and we love to be on your team for that goal!
