What are Neurological Conditions?
We enjoy treating all neurological conditions and the subsequent functional deficits that may go with them. These may include, but are not limited to, Cerebrovascular Accidents (CVA/stroke), Parkinson’s Disease, or other progressive musculoskeletal disorders. The nervous system and brain are so incredibly complex that no two patients are ever the same. Each patient will present with unique challenges and goals.
How is a Neurological Condition Diagnosed?
You will undergo a thorough examination and evaluation to determine the extent of your limitations and weaknesses and we will, together, create a plan of care centered around the specific goals you wish to achieve. There are compensation strategies that can be used short or long term to maximize function, depending on the patient’s specific situation. Physical Therapists are also experts in safety, home/environment navigation, and assistive device recommendations.
How Do We Help?
Physical Therapists are the ultimate team member involved in treatment of chronic and/or progressive neurologic conditions. The neurologist is an expert at diagnosis and medical management of your condition, the physical therapist is an expert at maximizing your function and independence. We treat the person as a whole, and formulate a personalized program to address your specific needs and goals. Let’s climb this mountain together.
